A few years ago, when I was working at a desk job for 8 hours every day, I had a bad bout with sciatica. I tried everything I could to relieve the pain. I took ibuprofen, acetaminophen, and muscle relaxers. I went to a therapist who used dry needling and massage to ease the tightness in my hip. I also tried using hot and cold packs, and a TENS Unit to disrupt the pain signal. I found the TENS unit a bit harsh. It stimulates muscles contractions and can easily be turned up too high and end up hurting you. All of these methods helped some, and gradually I got better.

I no longer have an office job, but I lift weights at a local gym 3 days a week and usually golf at least once a week. After workouts, I often have tight and sore muscles in my shoulders, neck, and back. Also, I am 66 years old, so on many mornings I wake up feeling a bit stiff and sore even when I don't work out. A stiff neck and back will totally ruin your golf game!

Now I have a better, drug free way to ease the pain and remove the stiffness. I use a hand held microcurrent device called a Renu Spa. I use this device to relax my muscles. I can use it by myself and it only takes 5 minutes. I bought this device a couple of years ago and now that I understand how effective it is, I use it almost every day.

The Renu Spa uses patent-pending adaptive microcurrent technology that continuously adapts (more than 80 times per second) to your skin’s conductivity throughout each session. The patent-pending design of the metallic nodes on the device help provide a smooth, comfortable massage. It is an FDA cleared medical device.

For me, this has been a total game changer when it comes to pain relief. It leaves my neck and shoulders feeling warm and relaxed and it is also recognized by the FDA as a mood improvement device. Using the Renu Spa actually improves your mood and makes you feel better all over.
