Moving your body is essential to your health. Things that don't move are dead. You know you need to move more, but don't like to exercise, what can you do?
The only movement that matters is the one that you actually do on a regular basis. You don't like going to a smelly gym to work out? No problem. Do what you enjoy. Anything you feel good doing, you are likely to do more often.
My wife enjoys taking a brisk walk every morning and dancing around the living room to classic rock tunes. I have recently discovered Tai Chi. I now practice a few moves every morning to stretch my body and limber up my muscles. Three times a week I follow this with a traditional work out at the nearby gym. My wife never goes to the gym and that is just fine. Move in any way you like best, just get moving.
If you loved riding your bike as a kid, why not go for bike rides as an adult? If you enjoy hiking in the woods, go for a hike! My wife and I both enjoy golfing, or just going to the driving range to hit a few balls. I find that golf gets me out of the house and moving. That movement helps me to feel better all day long.
Exercise sounds like work and that causes people avoid it. Instead, think about moving your body by doing something you enjoy, then getting your exercise will be a fun part of your day.
